What size are the tents?

New for 2021…we are asking artists to provide their own tents. The majority of art shows have this requirement, and over the years many artists have asked to use their own tents.

ArtWalk will provide the space from which to sell but artists must bring their own white, professional display tent, weighted on all four corners. Artists may rent a tent for an additional $150 for an ArtWalk provided 10×10 tent. Please select this option on the application.

We also feature a sculpture/3D art area surrounding a central rose garden, for artists who prefer no tent and do not require grid walls for their display. This area is ideal for sculpture, ceramic work, and art glass display.

Rented artist tents available are professional festival style tents with vinyl walls. Tent sizes range from 10′ x 10′ x 10’ to 10′ X 40′ X 10′. Group tents range in size from 10′ x 20′ (for up to 6 people) to 10′ x 40′ (for 10 or more). You will find a complete list of tent sizes and fees on the application form.  Tents are laid out in groups of 4, where all 4 tents are corners spaces.

May I share a 10′ x 10′ space with another artist?

No. Individual artists cannot share spaces. However, a group may apply for a 10×20 space for its members to share. ArtWalk San Diego limits group participation to established, permanent artist groups. There are no exceptions. See groups for frequently asked artist group questions.

Do I need to bring my own tent?

What do I need to bring to my tent?

You will need to provide all the materials necessary to hang or display your work and to make yourself comfortable during the weekend. We encourage the use of grid-walls or pro-panels for a professional look. Artists may also hang directly from their tent poles. Besides hanging materials, you might consider tables, chairs, and rugs.

Will I have access to electricity in my tent?

Electricity is not available at this event.

When can I set up my tent?

Setup for ArtWalk @ Liberty Station will begin on Friday, August 6th, 2021 from 7AM to 7PM.  Setup will also  begin at 6AM through 9:30AM on Saturday. Do I have to empty my tent at night during ArtWalk @ Liberty Station?

You are not required to empty your tent, BUT we do recommend that you remove any items of value. Many artists leave only their display panels. ArtWalk San Diego will provide security throughout the venue at night. It is important to note that the venue is near the ocean and the overnight air can be very damp. If your work can be harmed by moisture, you should remove it. ArtWalk San Diego is not responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen.

When do I have to be out of my tent on Sunday?

Please remove everything from your tent by 8PM Sunday evening (event ends at 5PM).
